Earlier, the state education department has also decided to postpone the class 10 and class 12 board exams in Punjab due to the corona epidemic. After a long time, open schools are now being closed due to the risk of re-infection.
Keeping in mind the growing Covid-19 cases in the state, the Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujrat and a few other state governments have ordered the closure of all schools and colleges till 31 March. Earlier, the state education department has also decided to postpone the class 10 and class 12 board exams in Punjab due to the corona epidemic. After a long time, open schools are now being closed due to the risk of re-infection.
As per the recent order, college graduate, post-graduate examinations have also been postponed and a night curfew has been imposed in 11 districts of the state. Earlier, as announced by School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla on 13 March, the Punjab government had declared Preparatory Leave for all classes in government, government-aided, and private schools.
Board examinations have also been postponed by the state education department. The Punjab Board Class 10 and Class 12 examinations were scheduled to begin on April 9 and March 22, respectively. The board has released a new schedule according to which the Punjab board class 10 board examinations will now be held from May 04 to May 24, while class 12 board examinations will be held between April 20 and May 24.
